Ebbie Bear

June 25, 2012 at 8:14 pm (Uncategorized)

Just got Evan in for afternoon preschool at Beach Manor. He will go to speech 3 mornings a week at Creeds and CHKD, and then to preK 3 afternoons a week. While I am happy for him, because I know how much he will enjoy it, it also breaks my heart that my “baby” is growing up. Evan is such a different child, and I love that about him. He is my little free bird. And he is spreading him’s little wings. Image

18june12

June 18, 2012 at 10:27 pm (Uncategorized)

We had a great father’s day weekend. Nothing exciting, but we had great weather so we spent a lot of time outside. Derek got his punching bag hooked up and the boys played frisbee and catch. Carter is through with preschool so our days are free except Tuesdays when Evan has speech therapy. We have gone to the beach and to the pool. The boys start swimming lessons again on June 30th. I am hoping Carter and Evan will learn to swim by the end of the summer. ImageImage

Dear Sweet Carter,

December 15, 2008 at 1:55 am (Uncategorized)

Tommorow you will be two years old. How fast it has flown by! Two years ago you made me a mommy and changed my heart and life forever. You are a sweet, goofy, fun-loving boy. You are silly and make me laugh all the time. You love music and playing your guitar and drums and singing and dancing around the house. You have a sweet spirit and are always sharing with your baby brother. You are a good eater and love spaghetti, rice and beans, grapes, green beans, popcorn and chocolate. You love bathtime and watching your “shows” before bed. You love to hang out with your dad in his chair, and relax. You are great at playing independently in your playroom and also a great helper. I love you little boy, with my whole heart, and I am so happy you are mine. Happy second birthday!
Love,
mommy

Home alone with the bebes

November 14, 2008 at 2:03 am (Uncategorized)

001Derek has duty tonight so it’s just me and the boys. I actually kind of look forward to “our alone nights”. I guess I got used to it being just the three of us when Derek was in Baltimore for 3 months. We usually eat popcorn, fruit and cheese for dinner (no cleanup),  I scrub them down in the tub and then we all pile in bed in front of the tv and watch what Carter tells us to. Seriously. He currently rules the tv and that means I have seen more episodes of I-Carly, Hannah Montana, Zack and Cody and the Wizards of Waverly Place than I care to count. I can sing you the Hannah Montana theme song. So can Derek. What is wrong with this picture? Also, shouldn’t a 22 month old want to watch cartoons, not preteen shows?? Ohwell, the boy likes what he likes. Little Ebbie is fast asleep. Thank goodness. He bit me super hard when he was nursing before bed and my boob still hurts. If he starts to bite me quite a lot his nursing days are OVER!

Summer days

August 7, 2008 at 1:34 am (Uncategorized)

It has been an eventful summer for us. Daddy has been gone most of the summer in Baltimore with his boat. It is a possibility he will be there until October. Suprisingly, though, I am not pulling my hair out taking care of the boys and our home completely alone all day every day. I think this is teaching me to be a better mother, because I have to do it on my own, and for that I am greatful. The boys are so sweet and interacting more and more each day. I am so lucky to have these wonderful babies. They wake up early and we have breakfast and then free play. Then I workout while they watch cartoons. Then we usually have outside time which the bebes love! Then, since we are now cloth diapering, I do some laundry-there is always some to be done! More playtime, then lunch and then nap. After nap is snack, and then playtime while I do an afternoon workout. Then we have outside play again. Then it is time for dinner and bath and then bed! We have wonderful days together and I am so lucky to be a stay at home momma! How great God is to provide this amazing life we have! It will be perfect once Daddy is home to enjoy it with us. Carter is talking a ton. He says “baby, eyes, nose, teeth, fish, ball, door, no-no, go, stinky, mama, dada, mimi and ebby”. He loves spending time at Mimi’s pool and playing at Mammaw and Grandaddy’s house. Ebbie has his first tooth and no longer wants to eat baby food. He likes mashed potatoes and broccoli and cheese bites. He laughs so sweetly and his favorite time of day is bathtime. He is almost crawling!

The BIG move!

June 29, 2008 at 10:44 pm (Uncategorized)

Well, we are all settled in here in Va. Bizzle! We did the move on June 14th and my Mom, Steve, Nicole, Tim, Clint and Keeshon all helped us. I don’t know how we would have done it without them! The boys have adjusted really well to the new house and we all love having much more space. Not to mention a backyard. Carter is the KING of outside right now! He could play out there all day! Evan hates the heat, but he loves the pool. He is a little waterbug, just like Carter is. Evan is holding himself up really well and is very “talkative”. He is currently getting his very first tooth! He loves to eat sweet potatoes! Carter is playing with his friends much more now that we are nearby. Today cousin Seth and little Taylor came over to play. They all had a great time.

Professional Pictures

April 25, 2008 at 4:15 am (Uncategorized)

Here are the boys’ pictures as I promised. We ordered small prints and are enlarging them on the computer because it will be about 50 cents per 8×10, rather than the $20 picture people wanted to charge us. We are going to frame them for ourselves of course, and for the gramma’s and great gramma’s for mother’s day!

Dear Sweet Evan,

April 10, 2008 at 4:36 pm (Uncategorized)

About this time last year, you were concieved. Although it would be nearly a month and a half before we would find out we were expecting you, you were already a little bean in momma’s belly. What a wonderful suprise! Your big brother was just four months old, and God decided to place you in are family. Here we are just one year later, and you are almost ten weeks old.  We were so nervous having another baby so soon after having your brother. But what joy you have brought to our lives and hearts. I was afraid I could not love another baby as much as I loved Carter, but you came in this world and doubled the size of my heart. I will never forget how cute you looked in the hospital after you were born, under the billirubin lights with your little “sunglasses” on. You were sleeping so soundly under the warm lights and looked so content. I loved being able to hold and nurse you every couple of hours and see your sweet little face. Carter loved you from day one. He has never been jealous of you at all, which we worried about. He covers you with a blanky and tries to give you a pacifier even though you don’t like them. He even tried to share his milk with you! You are smiling and cooing now, and you have such a sweet spirit about you. You have a very serious nature about you, and I wonder what you are thinking about. You look like your daddy, but your complexion is like mommy’s. You also have light hair like mommy. Your eyes are blue now and I hope they stay that way. You are a good napper and love to eat! You also love baths! What a sweet angel you are. I know you will do great and wonderful things.  I pray for you to have many great joys and few sorrows. For you to have many laughs and many great friends. For you to find a wife whom you adore and who adores you back and give me and daddy many gorgeous grandbabies. For you to have an honorable life. You are named for a very smart man, your Grandpa Domingo Collazo. He has taught daddy so much in his life, and I am sure you he will teach you a lot as well. You have a strong name, to be very proud of. I am so lucky to be your mommy. Daddy and I love you with all our hearts,

momma.

Check ups and pictures

April 5, 2008 at 10:37 pm (Uncategorized)

We have had a busy week. Tuesday both boys had their check-ups at the pediatrician’s office. It was Carter’s 15 month and Evan’s 2 month. Both boys look great! Evan is nearly 14lbs! He is such a BIG boy! Carter is only 20lbs! haha. They did great with the shots, no side effects, etc. Carter only had one shot and he did not cry at all! SO BRAVE HE WAS!!!

Then we went to Picture People on Friday and had the boy’s photos taken. They came at cute for as cooperative as they were. I will post them as soon as they are scanned. Anyway, it was a busy week for us.
